Concert Review: Maroon 5 – OneRepublic – Ry Cuming
Thursday night brought the return of Maroon 5 and OneRepublic to Minneapolis with new comer Ry Cuming in tow. Kicking off the evening Cuming’s thirty minute set showed off his jazzy vibe and husky vocals to the late arriving Target Center crowd. The rocker from Australia hit a high note with his rendition of The [...]
Concert Review: Kris Allen underwhelms at Minneapolis’ Fineline
I headed to the Fine Line in Minneapolis on Saturday with an open mind, willing to give the star of the night, 2009 American Idol champ Kris Allen, a chance to prove he was worthy of his Idol crown. Unfortunately, the evening played out pretty much as I had expected; as lackluster as his debut [...]
Detroit Rock City … more like Daughtry Rock City
Daughtry’s Leave This Town tour came tearing through Detroit on Saturday night at a near capacity Joe Louis Arena. Continuing to ride on the success of their 2008 platinum album “Leave this Town,” Daughtry joined by special guests Lifehouse & Cavo, made Detroit Rock City … Daughtry Rock City. The evening kicked off with St. [...]
Goo’d night as Goo Goo Dolls rocked tunes new and old
SUNY Oswego, deep in the heart of Upstate New York, was the unlikely setting for a Goo Goo Dolls concert on a Saturday night in April. Although the crowd consisted of mostly college students, midway through the night, Robby Takac asked if everyone was from Oswego, knowing full well die-hard & long-time fans made the [...]
Bic Lighter App – a concert must have
As a child of the 80′s, I cherish memories of looking around a sold our arena during my favorite power ballad to see the beautiful twinkling lights as cigarette lighters were held up by thousands of fans…would take the emotion of the moment to a whole new level. Of course, back in the day, security [...]
Billy Joel and Elton John Face 2 Face in Buffalo, NY
After being rescheduled twice, Billy Joel and Elton John finally took the HSBC arena in Buffalo, NY last week. The show was originally scheduled for July 2009, canceled due to illness at the last minute, rescheduled for December 2009 then rescheduled again for March 2010. Thankfully, third time was a charm AND it was definitely [...]
Collective Soul rocks a sold-out show Saturday night
Collective Soul proved even after sixteen years in the music industry they still have what it takes to sell out and put on one heck of a show. The Georgia based Alternative rockers, who are currently on tour in support of their 2009 Self-title release, performed for the crowd of nearly one thousand at Northern [...]
Concert Review: Trevor Hall captivates the Varsity Theater
Trevor Hall and his band put on an incredible show this past Friday at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MN. Channeling a Bob Marley-esque feel the dreadlock singer and his reggae music pleased the mostly college aged crowd. Hall has this calm demeanor that really allows you to appreciate and be immersed into the beauty [...]
Daughtry Leave This Town Tour rocks on
They are a “band” in every sense of the word. What I find most refreshing is Chris has no problem sharing the spotlight even welcoming the attention on his bandmates. Josh Steely, Brian CraddocK, Josh “JP” Paul and Joey Barnes each bring a unique personality to the mix and not one of them falls into the shadows.
Bieber was a tween dream on Sunday night
Although Bieber was the highlight of the evening for a good majority of the sold out crowd (14,000+ tickets sold) the show also featured a number of the most popular acts in music including Boys Like Girls and American Idol Jordin Sparks.
