Hanson was listed on the poll on Monday. That is a fact. Previous to Monday, Hanson were not listed on the VH1 site. On Monday, it was posted on Hanson’s site that the video had just been listed.
Maybe you just found out late. I can honestly say this has been fun. Have a wonderful night.
Cheryl: do you actually expect me to believe that YOU know more about Hanson in that poll than I do? Because honestly, you don’t seem to know anything about them. It was posted on Hanson’s site by one of their employees that it had just been listed on Monday. Hanson’s employee knows A LOT more than you do.
@cheryl No there is nothing to gain from this poll other then entertainment for those who vote. But that has never stopped the glamberts voting before as far as I know. Just saying.
@Love My Hanson I have huge respect for Hanson and their choice to go the independent route but still I don’t think half of their fan base would have heard of them if they didn’t at one time have the backing of a major label to get the word out about the band. It’s a necessary evil to start a carrier. And as you fansons has pointed out about a billion times, Adam is a newbie in the business which means he still needs the backing from RCA and he certainly got it
@Maria What do you mean you only had five days to vote for the video, while most other fanbases had seven? That doesn’t make sense to me.
Lambert fans:
Of course Lambert is more famous. Of sourse he’s selling more albums. That’s fine. 7 years ago, Hanson knew what they were getting into when they left Island def-jam. They knew they would sell fewer albums, but that was, and continues to be ok with them today.
So sure, we may take a poll like this a bit seriously, but we love rooting for a band like that. AL may continue to be around for decades and he is great in his own right, but Hanson is still happy where they’re at. This isn’t trash-talk. I agree Adam is in a position to do better finantially and deserves to be where he’s at. Good on him, but as Isaac said in that radio interview: “I’d rather spend the rest of my life as a toilet than write one more song for a major label.”
And anyone who saw their documentary Strong Enough To Break has got to agree that the way thery were treated at Island was only marginaly better than the sexual harrasment that goes on at Hooters. “Pretty boys should be seen, not heard?” If that were an office or any other job, they would have a lawsuit on their hands. They’re not models. They’re musicians, and must be treated as such.
Just wanted to say I knew Adam was going DOWN!!! from the start of this poll. And THE REASON ADAM’S # WENT DOWN AND HANSON WENT UP IS BECAUSE WE “THE FANS” VOTE LIKE HELL FOR OUT BAND!!!!!!!! WE VOTE NIGHT & DAY. WE DONT EAT. DONT SLEEP. ALL WE DO IS VOTE 24/7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ADD WE WON & KICKED BOOTAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats FANSONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE AER the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a good fight but the BETTER BAND WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We MMMBoped ALL your CANDY ASS lol
@ cheryl. Write more clearly? What is it you don’t understand? I think it’s you and your lack of understanding. You don’t understand anything about Hanson or care to learn anything. You have been coming back here spouting your mouth off at fansons, thinking you know everything there is to know about our band when in reality you know absolutely nothing!!! You should do your homework on Hanson before you start saying things that are just off the wall and not true!!! You talk about the lost years? There was never any lost years for Hanson and they by far are not making a comeback because they have been around but what you don’t get is that they are independent with their own record label. They don’t need to be backed by a major one! They have made 3 albums since leaving IDJ so I don’t care what you think because for Hanson it’s about the music and that’s all…nothing more!!! They don’t care about all this other stuff. It’s the glamberts that made it a competition. So yeah, us fansons just proved that we stick together for our band and support them 110%(code for kicking glamberts arse in this poll-hahahaha). You are sore losers because you still are saying the poll is fixed when it isnt and coming back here to continue to trash talk Hanson and fansons. I’m sick of you and all the glamberts who continue to trash them but I will always defend Hanson no matter what!! So keep on talking because I will be glad to respond to your idiotic posts!! It’s actually amusing in the way that you think you know so much about Hanson and yet you know nothing!!! Why don’t you visit hanson.net and educate yourself a little more. Oh wait your so close minded about it that you won’t give it a chance so don’t bother! LMAO!!! In 13 years Hanson will still be around so why would I waste my time to care if adam is? I can do just the same cheryl…I can rub it in your face now that no matter how long adam will be in the business. Hanson will always be in the business longer!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
@ Buck. Oh I know Hanson needed to be backed by a major label in the beginning but this is now. Since leaving IDJ, they have done very well for themselves and showed that they didn’t need to be backed by a record label anymore. They have their own and they are happy with having complete control over their music and not have to answer to a record label. I’m sure they were nervous to not have that anymore but the hard core fans stuck around and we love them even more now then before. It’s just sad to say that some people just can’t get passed mmmbop and listen to the new music. I understand if people don’t like their music because it’s just not their cup of tea but those people have given the music a chance which is more then I can say for most glamberts that didn’t even bother to view the video for TBS. I can tell these people because they are close minded and continue to trash talk Hanson.
@Love My Hanson I’m sure every fandom have their own “mmmbop” some people can’t see past. And I’m sure that’s what makes the hard core fans even more passionate about the band/singer. The thing is that passion more often than not back fires and instead of an opportunity to recruit more fans we start a fan war and nobody wins.
This whole voting situation is so funny. I guess Hanson fans have to give this pole voting all they have, because this is all they have, as Hanson certainly isn’t selling enough music to chart on any of the most significant industry charts..album or singles. You guys relish all you want in the joy of winning a voting pole, and the Lambert fans will take pride in having a marketable international artist in the current relevant music industry. We Win!
At least Adam has been on top of current relevant video voting poles like VH1 Top 20..who really gives a F*** if he is on this pole anyways. I am embarrassed as a Lambert fan that he is even associated with the worthless pole!

Stay classy, Jamie James. Stay classy.
I have to say, I feel really embarassed for all you AL fans who have no frigging idea how the music business works.
Not saying he doesn’t deserve the success, but stop pretending that a band on an independent label even have half a chance of having as much success as AL or any other major label artist. They just DON’T. Being majorly sucessful in the music industry today doesn’t take any talent, it takes getting a somewhat catchy song, a bit of shock factor and having a major level spending money on getting your music out there. The majority of people just listen to what’s on the radio, they make no effort to look for independent music. (I think the fact that the majority of AL fans don’t even know who Hanson are proves this fact!)
And you know what? You can have all your awards, all your charts that matter, all your success….
Us Hanson fans have already had it once. And right now, what we have is INTEGRITY, a band that have had the guts to stand up for the music they want to make, a band that isn’t willing to sell out for success. Honestly, I would much rather have Hanson as what they are now, 3 guys who are obviously happy and proud of the music they make than have them as some majorly successful act churning out music for the label that their hearts aren’t even in.
Seriously, people who know nothing of Hanson and the music industry in general should watch the Strong Enough to Break documentary. I think you’d be suprised at the way major labels treat their artists! And if you definitely have something against watching Hanson, you can go look for the documentary Before The Music Dies which tackles the same subject but isn’t from the POV of a particular artist.
I promise you, both are very interesting to watch.
@ Veronica:
You’ve made some very valid points, but you could have been nicer about it. Now all the AL fans are going to notice about your statement is that they’re too stupid to understand the undustry. Then they’ll probably hit you back with more of Lambert’s charting success and say Hanson’s not as popular and its starts all over again, even though we are already aware of their situation. They’re not going to pick up that they are making music in two very diffrent situations if you say it that way.
C’mon everybody. Lambert fans, your man is on top. You get to enjoy that. Fansons still get to enjoy what Hanson does within the provisions that make them happy. But because our boys make music in a lesser-known level, we have to fight harder for them to be heard, and sometimes that means clinging to a seemingly meaningless poll. Can you understand that?
Are we good, now? I’m sure you would want to fight just as hard for Adam if he had chosen a similar path, right?
All glamberts wanna do is fight with us. I’m so sick of it but I will keep defending our guys. glamberts that are continuing to wanna fight are uninformed and don’t know anything about Hanson and their career. Keep talking glamberts and you will see how big of a biotch I can be.I’ve been holding my tongue but just keep on talking…and I will have no choice but to go off…
Wow! It’s not that deep people. You do realize it’s probably about the same 12 bored housewives voting over and over again.
@Buck: Hanson were added to the list last Monday. We couldn’t vote for them last Saturday or Sunday, because they weren’t on the list for voting. Fans of the other videos could vote for their video last Saturday and Sunday, but we could not, because Hanson were not on the list. I hope that makes sense.
Isn’t this poll supposed to be over already? It was supposed to end yesterday. Bring on the next competition; this one is over with.
@ maria. I think they will post the new challenger today I think.
Just Curious as to why this poll is still open. We should be at the next poll. its the 18th not the 17!!! This one is supposed to be closed!!!!
@Maria I have never claimed to know more about hanson than you do. I was just stating that when I started voting hansons name was on the chart, a couple of names above Adam. I don’t think they just add names in the middle of voting or do you know more about that too?
In all the comments listed above, everyone keeps saying the same things. Independent: It was their choice, or was it?
@Jamie you said that right. Kinda sad isn’t it?
@Veronica Why are you so embarassed? We’re not. I guess you know all the ins and outs of “the industry” and so do many other fansons because thats all you have been talking about. Is it some kind of excuse? Adam has worked hard for what he has accomplished and does deserve everything he is getting and then some.
@Love my hanson When have you not spoken up? You have been keeping this going right along with the rest. If it makes you feel better to “go off” then go. I have not or will never claim to know anything about hanson except for the teenage(is that better than teenybopper) years. They are all I heard about from my kids. One of my daughters informed me of ‘the lost years”. She is still a fan of hanson and its her choice. She does like Adam too so it is possible to like both. I’m just not interested because Adam is my choice. You also need to get your facts straight. hanson won congrats, but we didn’t lose anything. A choice that we made to not vote, no different than the choice you made to vote. You say all Glamberts want to fight with you. That isn’t quite right. Another way to put it would be more, defending, as you state you do, our champion. So I guess we will get some more education about”the industry” right? I don’t need it. The numbers stand for what they are. Some say I need to be more educated on hanson, I think you fansons need to be more educated on Adam. I could add you on facebook where you can see what is going on and you can add me on your site so I can see. If thats not acceptable then go on and show us the biotch. We can handle it.
@Buck I read your comment, and I hope I didn’t come off disrespectful when I said something about this poll to you in an earlier post. There are so many trying to bring Adam down and I guess I read yours wrong. Sorry. Unlike others I do admit when I’m wrong.
Esse head to head não acaba nunca?? Cara… já cansei de ler todos esses comentários bobos.
Speak english if you have something to say so we all know what your saying.
I for one will say that this poll is rigged!!! I tried voting for Adam Lambert at 8:59 AM today 7/18 and before I did so, I checked the number of votes for Adam which was 37,549. After putting in 5+ votes I checked the numbers again for Adam if it increased by so much but to my dismay the number was still locked at 37,459. How is that possible???? The other day I also tried voting and I knew that although the votes were increasing it was not registering all the votes that were thrown in for Adam. Why this should happen I have no clue at all, to think that whatever the results of the poll here doesn’t impact at all the sales for the artist, there’s no need to doctor results for this poll.
If you want to show the Hansons winning by whatever means, so be it. I’m not wasting anymore time for something that isn’t presenting facts the way it should be. If ever 18% victory over Adam Lambert is way unbelievable!!!! CASE CLOSED!!!!
Jamie- you just don’t get it.. Adam is a commercial artist who is backed by a major label.. of course he is going to sell more albums.. Hanson is an indie band with their own label. so they won’t sell as many albums as Adam.. and you know what.. they are fine with that.. we are proud that their new album debuted at #2 on the independent charts and #30 on the top 200..
and you don’t win shit..and you seriously need to stop with this whole relevant thing.. Hanson is relevant in the music industry..
Cheryl- if that defensive comment was to me.. of course im going to get defensive.. like me and EVERY other fanson that have beeing commenting has said, we’ve had 14 years of practice.. and i just HATE ignorant and close minded people who think they know what they are talking about and think they are ALWAYS right
and wasnt this poll supposed to have ended like yesterday.. i so wish it would..
I am an Adam Lambert fan but getting a bit fed up by comments by some fans on both sides. Hanson won this poll. I don’t think we need to look for any major conspiracies, they got more votes that’s all.
Their fans voted even more against Jason Castro! It’s admirable that Hanson have kept some of their fans for 13 years but acquired others more recently since they have not been with a major record label. Going independent was a brave decision.
Good luck to the Hanson fans, you’ve got to go through this again this week
Well Said Megan Well Said!!!
OK — since Hot Zone seems to love this poll and refuses to ever end it, I’m going to say something.
Adam Lambert is presently white hot. He’s on all the talk shows, #1 on Billboard, on covers of every magazine, etc. etc. etc. Hanson was in that position thirteen years ago, and now they’re not anymore. That’s why I, and a lot of other Hanson fans, put this “white hot popularity” in perspective. If the Lambert fans want to believe that this level of fevered popularity is going to last forever, that’s their prerogative, but I can guarantee that they will be disappointed. Styles change, tastes change, the media always gives more attention to the latest thing, and the general public has a very short attention span. One Lambert fan even attributed supporting Lambert over Hanson because Lambert is “new” and “fresh”. Five years from now, Lambert will not seem so fresh anymore, and there will be someone newer. What then? If it’s really important to his fans that he be on top of every poll and sell the most albums and pack stadiums, what will they do when his star has begun to fade? And don’t say it will always be just as it is now. Look at the Backstreet Boys; they were bigger than Hanson and Lambert combined at one point, and now their records barely sell at all. At the same time, the BSB still have a core group of fans who support them, just as Hanson do.
None of us know what will happen to Adam Lambert in a few years. Perhaps he will have acheived a new, different kind of popularity that doesn’t hinge on his being “new” and “fresh”. Perhaps his popularity will fade. That is not the most important thing for him, though. At the end of the day, what is important is the artist, the music the artist is making, and the bond between the artist and the fanbase. The music industry is one of the toughest ways to try to make a living. Hanson have been succeeding in that industry for well over a decade. If they aren’t presently at the top of the Billboard chart, that matters little, because they have found a way to connect with their fans and to sell us the music we still want. I’m hoping that this new single will win them some new fans. Even if it doesn’t, I know that they have found a way to be professional musicians without submitting to a label boss. They have acheived success on their own terms.
Hanson fans, as a fanbase, have known highs and lows that Adam Lambert fans have yet to experience. I wish you Glamberts all the luck in the future. If Adam Lambert is truly committed to being an artist, and you as a fanbase can continue to support him when he is no longer the newest, hottest, thing, then I believe he can have a long career. Will that happen? I don’t know, and neither does anybody else here.
Maria: I can honestly say I respect you for all the adult things you said. And I agree no one knows the future. Adam has been compared to Elvis and look what happened when he first came out. So much controversy like Adam. I too wish Hanson all the luck on their career, but I do believe this is just the beginning for Adam. He already has a second cd coming out after his international tour. I know Hanson has been around a long time and I guess some kind of struggling comes with the industry. I’m sure at times Adam feels the same way. Seeing that we are being adults about this, I have read that Adam is afraid of what the future holds for the reasons you described but I believe he has a big enough fan base not to let him fall. Thank you for being honest and not trashing Adam. Conversations go so much better that way, and I’m sure you know what I mean. As long as I don’t see any Adam trashing when I pop in and out this will be the last you hear from me. If it starts again, I’ll be there again, I’m sure you can respect that.
As an Adam fan I first want to say congratulation to Hanson and their fans on a well earned victory. I wish also say that the video by Hanson is a very good one. I noticed that both music videos for Hanson and Adam’s have similar themes. Having a great time with friends and dancing your butt off. Both these videos are a ton of fun and make you want to dance. I did vote for Adam, I like his video a bit more but do have to say I hope that Hanson’s video gets a broader viewership. Their video has been out for 2 months and has about 250K view where as Adam’s video has 1.5 million and has only been out for 4 weeks. Which does surprise me a tad that Adam didn’t win but No conspiracy theories from me. Hanson Video is well done and the song is very catchy and Likable. I will tell the Hanson fans that this Adam fan will do his best to get more visibility for this Hanson Video and will view it and request it where ever I can. I think they are extremely talented and should be heard more on the radio or have more attention to them. Now I still love Adam better but I always appreciate talent (hence me Lambert fan) and regardless of anything else Hanson is talented and have grown into 1st class musicians and artist.
Honestly I don’t think Adam and/or Hanson would be too thrilled at the behavior and language used by some of their fans towards other artist fans and/or artist. Hanson and Adam both are about acceptance love and tolerance. The hate and vileness spread in the comment thread here would surely disgust both of them and over something so trivial as music video…
Anyway Adam is doing so well and will be around for a long time to come….Hanson has already been around for awhile and I have a feeling based on some of the new stuff will emerge again as a relevant group. Have a great weekend all
Why has my comment taken more then two day to get out of moderation. Mine is not hostile at all.
Maria Everything you just said was right on the money!!! The Media always goes after the new artest. Adam has Talent and So does Hanson. To Tell you the Truth I am one of those fans that Support Hanson, and the Backstreet Boys, and Since they are not new to the indestry we hardly see them in the Magazines, or the media. Unless they release an album. All in All, it is the fanbases that really count for artest, and the artist themselves for sticking with it. All in All we should be adults, and act calmly. But yeah as fansons we sometimes put up with alot of crap from some nonfans, that we should be adults about it, and defend our guys calmly and rationally. Thanks for that statement again.
God Bless All Of You Hanson Fans and Adam Fans. It is after All, All About the Music!!!
totally agree with Maria
Hanson! ♥
@Jessica Hollenbach Hey Girly just wanted to know when this thing is going to get to the next challenge? I am glad my band is winning, but was just curious, because the poll was supposed to close on the 17th. It is now the 19th. Thanks KittyQ
adam rocks..hanson doenst …nuff said
Congratulations to Hanson fans. You guys appear to be a strong and committed fanbase. I’m a dedicated Adam Lambert fan and I voted for him on this poll but “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin” is a good song and a great video so I wish Hanson the best of luck with it. IMHO its a far cry ahead of a lot of what’s on the charts right now.
A little correction: Adam Lambert is very far from being #1 on Billboard.
Cheryl ‘Adam has been compared to Elvis’
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Surely even Glamberts arent that delusional- really????????????????????
@Gary before you go spouting off again check your facts. Google it you’ll see or are you too close minded. I don’t know if you watched AI this season but when it came to Elvis week who did they ask to mentor the contestants. Adam, the first ever to return as a mentor. I’m far from being dillusional, it has been said many times by numerous critics, magazines, talk shows etc. Whether you believe it or not, makes no difference to me. Its a fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i honestly wish this poll would end already, no more fights. i wish you glmaberts luck in the future, i have nothing against you guys or adam lambert because i love adam myself, he’s an awesome singer, i love his music. I am also a fanson so i voted on both hanson and adam lambert… i just wish everyone (hanson and adam lambert fans) wouldn’t be so closed minded.
this poll can end anytime now and go to the next one.. it was supposed to end two days ago
@ cheryl: talk about being close minded??? you are one of the most close minded people on here. so look at yourself before you spout your mouth off about others being EXACTLY WHAT U R!!!
@love my hanson why are you starting this again? is running your mouth what you do best? You know nothing about me and never will so keep your comments where they belong, need I tell you where that is?
THANK GOD this thing has finally ended..
Cheryl seeing you quoted the ‘Adam is the new Elvis’ nonsense I guess you belieive it! (else why say it).
Hard to even begin to explain the absurdness of that… Elvis 19, leading a muscial revolution (Rock and Roll), new media (TV), radical and groundbreaking- unique.
Adam Lambert 28, doing some retro pop/dance, and some fake ‘shock’ promotional nonsense, retro glam fashion done to death in the 70′s and 80′s (including the he/she thing).
Reality check!!
dhunken: I join you in hoping that Hanson’s video gets more views, but you may not know that it also got close to 1 million views in less than a week on MySpace. It presently has almost TWO million views on MySpace.
@MARY: Thanks for the nice comment about Hanson & their fans. Not all of their fans are CRAZY like other fans on here.
