‘American Idol’ season nine Top 6 boys take the stage
The “American Idol” season nine Top 12 performed live Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
Second to perform were the Top 6 boys:
Lee Dewyze – “Beast of Burden,” The Rolling Stones
- Randy – One of his better performances; Put Randy in a singer/songwriter mood
- Ellen – Sounded great; Almost perfect but still expected a little more
- Kara - Energy was a little low; Performance showed so much growth since the beginning
- Simon – Lee needs to start thinking that he is better than other people
Find out how the Top 6 girls’ performances went
Tim Urban – “Under My Thumb,” The Rolling Stones
- Randy – Really weird performance; Didn’t like the reggae version; Couldn’t really hear Tim
- Ellen – Felt very on-the-beach-relaxing; Didn’t wow her
- Kara – Liked that he made it his own but didn’t like the performance
- Simon – A crazy decision to change the song; Change didn’t work
Andrew Garcia – “Gimme Shelter,” The Rolling Stones
- Randy – Pitchy at times
- Ellen – Best performance, yet
- Kara – Needed more intensity from Andrew; Thought he was missing the connection with the song
- Simon – Thinks that Andrew gave it 100 percent but that Andrew may have been better in rehearsals; Hopes that Andrew survives another week
Melody eliminated on episode 10 of ‘Frank the Entertainer in a Basement Affair’
Casey James – “It’s All Over Now,” The Rolling Stones
- Randy – Definitely back in the game after bringing back the guitar
- Ellen – Fantastic
- Kara – Tonight, Casey was a rock star; Best performance since they met
- Simon – Didn’t feel like Casey was using the stage to do something incredible; Seemed like an audition performance
Aaron Kelly – “Angie,” The Rolling Stones
- Randy – Loved the tender moments; Reminded him of a young Justin Timberlake
- Ellen – Really was a standout performance for the night
- Kara – Absolutely saw the connection between Aaron and the song
- Simon – Thought it was going to be a disaster but Aaron ended up choosing the perfect song; Was impressed that he sang the song within his range
NBC’s ‘Minute to Win It’ asks ordinary people to do extraordinary tasks for one million dollars
Michael Lynche – “Miss You,” The Rolling Stones
- Randy – Wasn’t crazy about some of the ranges; Great performance, though
- Ellen – The perfect way to start the night; Can’t imagine not liking him
- Kara – Really liked his swager on stage
- Simon – Thought the performance was, at times, corny, especially the dancing; Sometimes was a tiny bit desperate
