Universal Pictures “The Green Zone” opens today!
Matt Damon stars as an earnest U.S. Army officer Roy Miller who arrives in Baghdad in an attempt to find the weapons of mass destruction we went to war for. He becomes increasingly frustrated as he, and his fellow solders search through sites with no results. Miller tries to speak with his superior, Defense intelligence agent Clark Poundstone, played by Greg Kinnear about the situation, but all he wants is for Miller to remain silent about his fears.
He begins to suspect that they are working with faulty intelligence tips which cost lives as well as precious time needed to find them before the country becomes unstable. Miller refuses to” stay the course” of the military’s “status quo” and decides to go rogue in his search for answers. He meets with CIA station chief Martin Brown played by Brenden Gleeson and Washington Post reporter Lawrie Dayne played by Amy Ryan who both agree that something is wrong with the picture.
