Ex-bachelorette Ali says maybe she would choose love next time

Ali Fedotowsky from "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" (ABC)

Ex-“Bachelor: On the Wings of Love” bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky said if faced with the decision of love or work again, her decision would probably be different.
“If I had to choose between love and work again, I think I would chose love,” she told reporters during a February 18, 2010 interview.
Ali recently the main focus of an episode of ABC’s reality dating show when she was forced to decide if she wanted to leave the show and keep her job or leave her job and keep fighting for the love of bachelor Jake Pavelka. Ali chose to leave but said she regretted the decision at the time and still sometimes regrets it now.
“There’s definitely times that I do regret it; I do regret that I – it’s not even just in my moment with Jake, but sort of throughout my adult life, that I kind of have consistently put my career first, and not like put love first, then I think maybe that’s why I’m single.”

Ali being forced to leave, she said, came out of a miscommunication with her workplace. She believed she would be able to take a leave of absence from her job after she had used up all her vacation time. Unfortunately, as she explained to reporters, she learned after her hometown date that she had not been with the company long enough to be granted a leave of absence. Viewers watched Ali and Jake struggle with the decision, and Ali said she wasn’t looking for Jake to say anything in particular to make her stay that night. She said she had also spoken to her mother before making the final decision, and her mother, who had just met Jake during the hometown date, told her to stay.
In the end, though, Ali decided to leave.
“The reason I think I was able to leave and go back to work is because I felt so strongly about our relationship, and I felt so strongly that I was supposed to be with Jake. I really thought, ‘If this is love and this is real, it will conquer all things’.”
Not long after she left, Ali was calling Jake, pleading with him for a second chance. Jake told her it wasn’t a good idea, and while Ali was heartbroken to hear Jake was moving on with the three remaining women, she understood.
“I think Jake is with someone now and happy.”
